Creatures of the Wound

The Dark Cave pulses with hostile life — creatures twisted by the death of the god Noctum. Ten species stalk the tunnels, each with distinct combat styles, weaknesses, and rewards.

Monster Classes

Every monster belongs to one of three combat classes, determining its dominant stat and how the combat triangle applies:

  • Warrior (STR) — high HP and armor, hits hard. Weak to INT-based attackers.
  • Rogue (AGI) — fast and evasive, but fragile. Weak to STR-based attackers.
  • Mage (INT) — powerful magic, often ignoring armor. Weak to AGI-based attackers.
💡

Use the triangle

Before engaging, check the monster's class and compare it to your dominant stat. Fighting with the triangle advantage gives you +5% damage per stat point — this adds up fast.

Dark Cave Monsters

Ten creatures inhabit the Dark Cave, one per level from 1 to 10. The class sequence alternates irregularly — there's no simple pattern to exploit.

Hunting Tips

  • Start with Cave Rats — level 1, low HP, drops starter gear. Perfect for your first fights.
  • Farm the Stone Giant — level 8 Warrior drops two different weapons (Steel Mace and Warhammer), making it one of the best farming targets for weapon upgrades.
  • Shadow Dragon is the boss — level 10, 48 HP, 20 INT, and armor. Come prepared with your best gear and a full stack of potions. Drops two rare armors.
  • Consumable prep — buff consumables drop from specific monsters. Stock up on Fortifying Stew (STR buff) before fighting Mage-class creatures, or Quickening Berries (AGI buff) before Warrior-class.
  • Watch the class pattern — the cave alternates monster classes (R, M, W, M, W, R, M, W, R, M). Plan your consumable usage around upcoming encounters.

Lore

The creatures were not always here. When Noctum fell, his death ripped a wound in reality. Things that should not exist crawled through — not from another place, but from the space between places. They do not eat, they do not sleep. They simply are.
